Building mathematical thinkers
Bridges in Mathematics , second edition, is a comprehensive K–5 curriculum that equips teachers to fully implement the Common Core State Standards for Mathematics in a manner that is rigorous, coherent, engaging, and accessible to all learners.
The curriculum focuses on developing students’ deep understandings of mathematical concepts, proficiency with key skills, and ability to solve complex and novel problems. Bridges blends direct instruction, structured investigation, and open exploration. It taps into the intelligence and strengths of all students by presenting material that is as linguistically, visually, and kinesthetically rich as it is mathematically powerful.
Educators talk about Bridges
We asked a principal and a teacher to talk with us about their experiences with Bridges.
A window into the classroom
When evaluating educational programs, there is no substitute for direct observation. We offer these extended video clips to give you a firsthand look at Bridges in the classroom.
Seeing, touching, and sketching ideas create pictures in the mind’s eye, helping learners construct, understand, and apply mathematical ideas. Bridges incorporates increasingly complex visual models, including the Number Line and the Array models, in a coherent framework across the curriculum.
We recognize that academic achievement is the result of hard work by students and educators. We are committed to providing exceptional implementation support for the life of your adoption.
Bridges users benefit from a growing collection of carefully selected online resources as well as access to curriculum specialists. Workshops are available for getting started and for further professional development.
Bridges really helped me pull all of the pieces together in terms of content, delivery, and motivation. My students really excel in math, and I owe much of that to this curriculum.
