Grade Two - Sample Two

The first unit of Bridges in Mathematics, Grade Two focuses on pattern. Simple and complex repeating patterns are explored and used as a foundation for introducing patterns that grow in some regular manner. In one of the first activities children are asked to write and draw what they know about patterns. 5–6 weeks later they repeat the assessment. By comparing these sheets, teachers see differences in the complexity of the patterns children draw.
