Visual Mathematics III
Grade level: 6-10
Visual Mathematics III activities emphasize algebra, geometry, probability, and statistical concepts. The concrete materials and effective classroom discourse presented in this workshop make concepts accessible and challenging to students of all achievement levels.
The workshop takes an in-depth look at arithmetic sequences, symmetry, isometries, linear and quadratic functions, graphing, and data variability and spread. Participants explore strategies for extending models of integer and fraction operations to prompt student-invented algorithms for operations with algebraic functions.
