New Assessment Tools for K and 1
The White River School District in Buckley, Washington, adopted Bridges K-5 three years ago. For the last two years, the teachers and administrators in White River have been working with MLC and Educational Solutions NW to develop a way to track students’ progress with respect to the Washington state standards using the assessment tools available in Bridges.
This collaborative project has resulted in a number of new and revised assessments, including the Grade 2 Baseline Assessment, and now a new Yearlong Skills Assessment for Kindergarten and a collection new assessments for first grade, including a Yearlong Skills Interview, and several paper/pencil assessments designed to be conducted several times over the course of the year. These assessments address kindergarten and first grade skills common to most states, so we wanted to share them with other Bridges users around the country.
To view the new assessments go to:
Bridges Grade K Support under “Yearlong Skills Assessment.”
Bridges Grade 1 Support under "Assessment Tools.”
Although the teachers in White River piloted and refined these assessments for a full year, they may be considered drafts. We invite you to use them in your classroom, and share your comments and suggestions with us on the Blog.
