Build Your School’s Internal Getting Started Team

Mike Wallus, Vice President for Educator Support

Attending a Getting Started workshop is a foundational experience for Bridges educators. During the workshop, educators gain familiarity with the components of the curriculum, learn how these components work in the classroom, and investigate ways to use questioning techniques and visual models to differentiate instruction for their students. But how can districts support educators who join a school after the initial Getting Started workshop has already taken place? While MLC offers open-enrollment Getting Started workshops throughout the year, many schools and districts are interested in building a team of internal leaders to facilitate “in-house” Getting Started workshops for new teachers and staff.

For schools and districts interested in building a team of internal leaders to facilitate Getting Started workshops, MLC offers a three-day facilitator workshop. This workshop provides coaches and other instructional leaders with the structure and resources needed to deliver their own in-person Bridges Getting Started workshops to staff within a school or district. This spring, MLC is offering three in-person facilitator workshops at different locations across the United States:

  • May 2–4, 2023, 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. CT each day (Anoka, MN) - Register now
  • May 16–18, 2023, 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. ET each day (Essington, PA) - Register now
  • May 22–24, 2023, 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. MT each day (Aurora, CO) - Register now

Registration for each of the facilitator workshops is now open in the professional development section of the MLC store. The cost is $250 per participant. If you have additional questions about the facilitator workshop, please contact your state’s regional coordinator.
