We’re excited for you to join us for our 2024 summer events!
Whether you’re a classroom teacher or a coach, an instructional leader or an administrator, a university faculty member or part of a local educational agency, you know the joys and challenges that accompany student-centered, asset-based implementation of the Bridges curriculum.
We need your voice to be part of the conversation as we work together to advance this work in schools and districts across the country.

Bridges Leadership Institute (In-Person)
July 22-25, 2024
Aurora, CO
$600 per person
Join us in Denver for four days of learning and fun. We will have the majority of the Hyatt Regency Aurora-Denver Conference Center to ourselves. We’re thinking of the event as part retreat, part summit. There will be many formal and informal opportunities to learn, share ideas, and network with fellow Bridges educators and leading education experts.
This year, we have a limited block of rooms with two queen beds for those who want to join with a friend or colleague, or for whom budget makes a difference. These rooms will be available on a first-come, first-served basis, so book quickly if these interest you!

Virtual Leadership Institute (Remote)
June 27-28, 2024
Online via Zoom
$250 per person
This year, we’re once again hosting a virtual event. Like the in-person institute, the virtual event will offer engaging presentations focused on deepening students’ understanding of mathematics and fostering classroom communities where all students feel a sense of belonging. The Virtual Learning Institute will have a more limited scope than BLI.
Feel free to join us for the in-person event in Aurora, the virtual event, or both.

Conference Themes
We’ve invited a dynamic group of speakers, workshop leaders, Bridges teachers, and leaders from across the country to share their knowledge. They’ll help us explore ways to deepen students’ understanding of mathematics and to foster equitable practices in Bridges classrooms.
Presentations, discussions, and conversations center on four essential themes.
Bringing Bridges to Life
When we think about the math experience we want students to have, we aspire to create access, deepen understanding, and build belonging. Learn what it looks like to turn these aspirations into reality in a classroom.
Enacting Equity
Part of enacting equitable teaching practices means understanding the ideas and principles that help us teach with intention. Learn how to integrate equity into the day-to-day routines of your Bridges classroom.
Generating Colleague Support
All of us do better work when we collaborate. Hear from instructional leaders and educators who are figuring it out as they share ideas on how their schools and districts are supporting teachers to bring out the best in their classrooms.
Engaging with Families
How can we build meaningful relationships with families and partner with them to support their students' mathematical identity and understanding? Learn ways to engage with parents as partners, so they’re walking the journey with you.
FAQ
-
Q: What is the difference between VLI and BLI?
A: The Bridges Leadership Institute (BLI) is a multi-day, in-person event. Attendees have the opportunity to learn from and network with dynamic keynote speakers, workshop leaders, Bridges teachers, and leaders in mathematics education from across the country.
Like the in-person institute, VLI will offer engaging presentations focused on deepening students’ understanding of mathematics and fostering classroom communities where all students feel a sense of belonging. The Virtual Learning Institute will have a more limited number and scope of sessions than BLI and will not offer in-person interaction. -
Q: What are the total hours for the Virtual Leadership Institute?
A: Attendees who participate in the Virtual Leadership Institute synchronously have the opportunity to attend five breakout sessions for a total of 6 hours and 45 minutes. Recordings of all of the sessions (90 minutes each) will also be available for participants to view asynchronously.
-
Q: I want to register. How do I get started?
A: You can register online for the in-person Bridges Leadership Institute (BLI) or the Virtual Leadership Institute (VLI). Note: you will need to create an account if you, your school, or district do not already have one established.
-
Q: Can I register multiple people on behalf of my school or district?
A: Yes. You have the option to add multiple attendee names when you register.
-
Q: After I register for an institute, do I need to register for individual sessions?
A: Bridges Leadership Institute (BLI) attendees do not need to register for individual sessions. Breakout rooms at the event have the capacity to hold 40 participants and attendance will be available on a first come, first serve basis. Every BLI session will appear on the program twice, to provide flexibility for participants planning their institute experience.
While there is no cap on the Virtual Leadership Institute (VLI) sessions, we ask attendees to register for individual sessions on the Whova platform, to ensure facilitators can prepare an appropriate number of digital resources, such as Jamboards or shared slides. Once the Whova platform is launched in May, we’ll provide more information about registering for individual VLI sessions. But very simply, you’ll be asked to “Add to My Agenda” any session you plan on joining. VLI sessions will be recorded and made available following the VLI, for on-demand viewing.
-
Q: When I go to the checkout, the registration system is charging me tax. My organization is tax exempt. What do I need to do?
A: If this happens, please do not complete your checkout. Email a copy of your school or district’s tax exemption certificate to mlcinfo@mathlearningcenter.org. We will work with our accounting department to update your information. Once updated, we will reach out to you about the update and any additional steps needed to complete registration.
